Safety and health are of prime concern in the work place. Every business big or small thrives on its work force. Thus every employee needs to be aware of the various health hazards that are associated in day to day life. The best way to improve the awareness is through the corporate health and safety courses. Such a course raises awareness about various health related issues that are often overlooked. Yet there are some businesses that tend to underestimate the need for training health and safety. But the big corporate houses have realized the potential. They know that good health record is not only important for the employees but is also most important for the organization. The cost of work related injuries and illness is enough to put an end to the aspirations of a company.
The health and safety courses try to find out in case of any emergency situation, what are the actions that should be taken and other specialized industry related health safety information. If the employees in your organization have undertaken the health and safety courses you can be rest assured that they will know about the safety precautions to be taken in their work place as also the art of living safe. Any organization trying to implement a health safety policy should aim at:
• Maintaining and promoting the best degree of mental, physical and social well being of all the employees associated with the organization.
• Prevention of ill health in the employees due to their working conditions.
• Protecting the employees from the health hazards they might face due to their type of work.
• Making sure that the staff are employed at a place that suits their physiological as well as psychological capabilities.
With the implementation of the health and safety courses not only does the morale and health of employee increase but the productivity also in turn increases. Through a training health and safety all levels of officials in the organization are made aware at the same time. Thus there is cleanliness in all quarters of the organization. The company can benefit from the health and safety courses too as they do not have to pay a hefty insurance bill.
Health and safety courses not only promote awareness in day to day life but they also give a lot of peace of mind. The organization gets a competitive edge when all the employees are safe and assured!

Food Safety Training Essential
By law all food handlers must receive adequate supervision, instruction and/or training in food hygiene for the work that they do. It is important that individuals related to the food industry know about food poisoning – what causes it and how it gets into our food, how to prevent contamination and the growth of bacteria and also individuals should know the law surrounding the food industry and how it affects their role and responsibility of a supplier of food.
The only way this can be undertaken is through accredited food safety training. By law all food related companies within Ireland and the UK have to ensure that all their employees are trained in the correct disciplines with the certificates to be shown as proof of compliance. What a lot of companies are faced with is the unprecedented staff turnover which cannot be avoided. This complicated the training process for the training division as they goal is get all people trained in the correct disciplines all of the time. There are new training solutions available that provide a management system that enables employers to track and record all employees that leave the organisation, new employees that are recruited and those that move positions with the organisation. This then ensures that all the correct people are trained in the correct disciplines all of the time and are compliant within industry for auditing purposes.

Are our Kitchens a Hidden Danger Zone?
The kitchen area in our household is rarely known as a dangerous place. But there is a hidden enemy there waiting to attack a weakened immune system. Bacteria hiding in raw meats, on counter tops or cutting boards all have the potential of creating illness in individuals with weakened immune system. Improperly stored or prepared foods can harbor bacteria that can be dangerous to individuals.
Food safety is a very important part of preventing food poison in individuals and ensuring that individuals have the common sense and knowledge of how properly to handle and store food is again another preventive technique used to make sure that food safety is implemented in the correct manner
A few simple techniques can help you stay safe in the kitchen. Wash your hands with hot soapy water before and after handling food. Also be sure to wash you hands after using the bathroom or handling a pet. Wash your cutting boards, dishes, and utensils with hot soapy water after preparing food and between each food being prepared. Use disposable paper towels when cleaning your kitchen. If you have to use cloth towels wash them often in hot water. Avoid leaving soiled and damp wash clothes on your kitchen counter or hanging from a towel rack. This allows bacteria to grow and infect anything they come in contact with. Use plastic or other non-porous cutting boards. Porous surfaces such as wood allow bacteria to migrate into the surface and contaminate any food that comes in contact with that surface.
A lot of these techniques are common sense but a lot of households fail to implement thus resulting in mishandling of food and causing illnesses in individuals.
